My favorite character is Hillary. She was brave enough to forget about her past issues and focus on what she wanted and eventually made a good wife and mother.

My favorite character is Hillary because she is a successful ghostwriter who is fiercely devoted to her family and friends, despite being plagued by self-doubt, she is determined to be present for her daughter, Claire.

I agree. I love good strong female characters. It’s so important and I loved Sarah.

Hillary was outstanding in the story in that she was resilient despite what she was struggling with in life..that was absolute bravity!

Hillary is my favorite, she has always felt compelled to learn about her Irish roots on her father’s side of the family this is after her mother abandoned her family when Hillary was ten years old.

He was a hands-on dad, and the kind of husband every woman would want. I loved the nickname of Chickadee he gave Hillary. He seemed so patient with his family. I found him to be just an all-around good guy!
I also loved Ed! I just wish that we had the opportunity to see more of him. He reminded me of my husband which added to his charm.

Maybe he will have a bigger part of the next book. At least I hope so!

Claire – She is a bright and funny girl with such enthusiasm. I think she brought a little levity to the story with her humor, curiosity, and energy.

I think Hillary was my favorite character. I didn't like her at all, as a person I mean. However, her struggles and behaviour was very realistic to me. Someone that's fighting to overcome past mistakes shouldn't be expected to be all steady and consistent. It made sense to me, and I think she was among the best developed characters.

My favorite character was Sarah, possibly because she was my age and always cheerful, which I try to be. She was such a good surrogate mother for Hillary and grandma for Claire. She showed bravery and spunk when it was needed, and yet had some very real health problems. I did not like the tragic end she came to. I didn't feel it was all that necessary to the story plot.

People who take care of others are always my favorite in books. With that said, Sarah is my favorite character in this book for that reason.
