I have read and reviewed this book. It wasn't terrible, but I found it a little too formulaic for my liking. And so many fly fishing details that left me bored.. I'm glad others have enjoyed it.

This was such an unexpected delight for me. Like I literally went in expecting to be maybe kinda bored if the fly fishing got too heavy but it was all so wonderful. I actually liked the idea of catch and release. It made me think of ,'fish are friends, not food'. :lol2: :lol2: I would definitely read it again and great review!

timd wrote: 07 Sep 2019, 15:04 This is a truly lovely review of what sounds like a lovely book as well. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and I think that we have lost a lot of things that really count in modern life. This book seems to address all of these issues, from the joy of a sport such as fly fishing, to each of the women's personal problems and the wonderful friendships that they formed. This sounds like a truly heart warming book, and the review was also written very well to illustrate this.
Absolutely agree!

Beautiful review. I was also turned off by the fact that the book focuses on fly fishing, but now I might give it a shot.

The friendship side interests me, but not the fly fishing aspect. Thanks for the review though

I'm not a fan of fishing in general let alone fly fishing. These women hooked me with the first chapter and I couldn't put it down. I was unhappy when the booj ended because I wanted more.

This book sounds really interesting, I wouldn't want to miss it, as it might be a great opportunity to learn about fly fishing.

Fishing. Not really my idea of enjoyable pastime. I suppose I am not build for such passive activity and lack mentality to be relaxed by meditation. As it is I am afraid I will have to skip this book, but would like to wish author best of luck!

A book that encourages you to strengthen your current friendships and to be open for new friendships has to be a good book! Thanks for a wonderful review!

This appears to be a good read for when you just want to relax and enjoy a bit of light reading. I think it's great that this focuses on the relationships between 5 women and their lives. Not too sure about the fishing bit, (even if it's not the main part of the story) I have to put up with too much of that at home with my partner! Thank you for the lovely review.

Thank you for your review!

I agree with your assessment of the book - it definitely seemed to be a book all about the sport of fly fishing initially, but turned out to be much more than that. It wound up being more about the bonds formed between a group of women who seemed to have very little in common initially. The author demonstrated a deep knowledge of the subject and was able to relay that information in a way that wasn't beyond comprehension for someone like me, with no knowledge of this subject. I loved the way this book flowed, and how it evoked all kinds of emotions.

Great review! I love books that inspire and this sounds like a good one to read. It kind of reminds of the Joy Luck Club, which I love!

Great review. I read this book too and felt the same way you did about the story being about so much more. It was really inspiring after I started to dive in.
