A story of redemption is always worth reading, especially if the characters are well-drawn. I look forward to reading this story.

I admit I judged the book by its cover and have strayed from it, but your review just makes me want to pick it up. Not my usual type of book so I'll have to keep an open mind.

One of the most amazing thing that a book can do is make the reader root for characters with obvious vices. I think this is one of those books.

Thank you for the detailed review.

I like the idea of the three character's perspectives brought together at the conclusion. Sounds like an interesting read from your excellent review!

Thanks for the detailed review. A story that can make you root for characters despite their obvious vices has to be interesting.

I really don't fancy books that talk about alcohol and drugs but I love the fact that the author based on a theme that's so rare and educative. Great review!

I remember this book. Who can ever forget a sword swallower? When I first encountered this book late July, I wrote: "Gary Robinson's The Sword Swallower and the Chico Kid is about the friendship between a talented circus performer -- sword swallower and fire breather Duke -- and a young man named Gary Robinson who is losing his grip on life after graduating from college. ... The book is about the interaction between a talented and unconventional man and a young man looking for a way to make something out of his life. It is about how the Duke becomes young Robinson's unexpected ally in his search for himself." Readers drawn to novels about unconventional people who live their lives no matter what, and about people struggling to put their lives back on track should try out this book. Congratulations to Gary Robinson on The Sword Swallower becoming Book of the Day again.

The premise of this book is really interesting and I usually like books with multiple POV that eventually converge as the character's meet. I'll have to give this one a shot!
I was born with a reading list I will never finish.

Can Duke be able to settle Gary's problem when he is also dealing with similar problem?

Very interesting plot here. Obviously dwells on alcoholic addiction. I like that it is spiced with humour. It promises to be a good read.

The book that focuses mainly on character development is not my cup of tea, however, I like the fact that there is humour in the story. Nice review.

The last time I saw this book featured as the BOTD, I was hesitant to read it but your review has made me have a change of mind. It will be my first time to consider character driven stories. The plot development sounds intriguing with well defined characters. Awesome review.

I felt sorry for Gary Robinson who missed the nice opportunity to develop himself in school, and took to drinking. This goes in line with the saying that opportunity comes but once, and opportunity lost can never be gained. This can be a good reference book to school guidance and councillors.

I think it is enjoyable that the author took his time to divide the book into parts. This way readers get to interact wig each character individually before knowing them together. Amazing
