Sou Hi wrote: 14 Oct 2020, 21:04 Thanks for an insightful review. This looks like a nice book about family love. I don't mind the LGBTQ themes, so I would like to know more about Beth's and Troy's story.

I will like to find the answer to the question. Thanks for sharing such an insightful review. Great job! 👍

Beautiful review.
I also did a review of this book, and I felt the beginning part was mundane. But I enjoyed the unexpected twists and turns, especially with regard to Beth's relationship with Jr. and Carl.

Your review is very informative. I like the description about the 3 different parts and points of view but in general, I believe that this book is not for me.

The main character being likeable is always important for a story. However I don't know if I want to read a book with a pretty slow paced beginning. Excellent review

I love the idea that there are different perspectives from different characters, and a change from 1st to 3rd person, I always found that very clever! I look forward to giving it a go, great review!!!

I'm not particularly keen on family drama, but the mystery part of this novel seems intriguing. Thank you for your great review!

Seems a good-paced historical story about the secretive angle of the U.S. Senator, Beth Davenport. Her son, Troy’s curiosity of unturning the mystery of a storage locker and a briefcase containing over five million dollars doubting him about her mother’s true color. He shouldn't count her too a corrupt politician! Nice review, unamilagra. Thanks,

What a great review! Thank you!

Today's BOTD is a family drama told in three parts and two points-of- view. The complex, realistic characters will pull readers in from the start, and the mysterious events of the plot will keep them turning pages. I've added this to my WTR list...sounds like a good one! Thanks again!! :-)

Based on the title of the book, I am surprised at the story plot. I thought it would be a stiff account of being a Senator! I love that there is humor laced in; however, I know what you mean about a story starting off slowly. I usually cannot get interested in continuing if the beginning chapters don't entice me and keep me wanting more! Excellent review, thanks!

Mystery with some family drama sounds really intriguing. I don't mind the lack of action but bad pacing can affect the reading enjoyment. This sounds like a book I would enjoy. Thank you for your informative review.

A fictional story about a senator who dies in a helicopter crash. Next, her son, set off on a mission to find out who really his mother was. There are various factors that create curiosity in this story like the suitcase with five million dollars. It sounds interesting.
