This is a very insightful review. I wonder what new learnings from this book you got; they might pitch me to getting this book. I, however feel a bit skeptical about it because of the negatives about Christianity. Thanks for the brilliant review.
Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

I am sure the mature Christian can take it.

Thanks for the visit.

You ought to read the end of Simon's Mansion. Thanks, Alice, for the sweet words. Delicious.

This book has a lot going on. Simon's life is very interesting and I can only hope everything turned out for the best. This is something I might be interested in reading. Thanks for your review!

I'm always up for thought-provoking literature, so my interest has definitely been piqued.
The way you describe the book, highlighting possible deal-breakers for some prospective readers is thorough and objective. I liked that.
I really enjoyed reading your review.

Simon's is indeed an eventful life. I suggest you come to the mansion. The frowning ancestors don't bite; neither do the pets.

Everyone is stealing my comments! I also love "The writing was deliciously poetic" and thoroughly enjoyed your closing quote.

My cousin's wife's step-mother compared her to a child molester when she said she was engaged to a woman. I have no place in my heart for that version of the Christian spirit. My family loves her like she is our own blood.

Sounds like quite the book and your review is terrific.

Thank you for the tasty encouragement, Joanie. Yes, many of us Christians need to grow up.

I'd admittedly like to meander through the rooms and halls of that mansion with Cicero and Ferdinand. While themes of cocaine addiction, rehab, and tumultuous relationships would be a lot to digest, it's nice to hear there was a balance of elements presented. And your last sentence and quote causes a deep ponderance indeed... Great review!
