I have read the introduction and the first chapter and I agree this could be a movie. It's sad to hear that the concept of mirrors does not match the storyline. Your review however has made me want to read the rest of the novel.
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)

This book is interesting. I can see the context and the vision of this kind of story angle. I do believe the author intended a deeper level of perception and understanding of that particular society. I liked how you pointed out the major factors of the narrative and gave it a perfect dressing. I'd love to read this book.

I'm surprised that this book is a debut novel by the author. From your review, I understand that you enjoyed reading the book. And I liked the way you described what you liked and why. Thank you for such an amazing review! I wish I could relate the title to the book when I read it. That would make it even more interesting.

Sounds a good read, though I agree that the reference to mirrors seems to have been left unexplained to an extent. Great review!

An interesting read indeed. I love how its a fast paced novel. The amount of suspense and curiosity inside is commendable also. Thanks for this review.

The title, Mirrors of Life - What is your life in the mirror? is catchy, and I was expecting more on a parallel storyline of existence. However, this book seems to explore an interesting premise over the black community. I'm not sensitive to erotic scenes, but I think the "graphic sexuality, abuse, and murder," along with the racial discrimination might be a bit too much for me. Thank you for the recommendation!

The cover and title are quite intriguing. It’s too bad that mirrors aren’t explained as clearly, though I find that African American novels often have many layers and subtle undertones. I’m definitely going to check this one out. Thanks for an excellent review!

I liked Yvonne's determination to raise her son all by herself despite her young age and difficult circumstances. The novel seems like a good combination of drama, familial love, romance, suspense, and philosophy. I'm worried about the scenes of abuse and the cliffhanger ending, though. Thanks for a detailed review!

Although the book has an interesting story line. I am fascinated by graphic sexual scenes, muder and abuse. But thank for a great review.

I am all for character development books, but I don't think I will be reading this one. The fast-paced feature actually takes away the enjoyment I have with character-building books. However, it seems like you've enjoyed it. Good thing! Thanks for the review!

I love good character-driven novels, and this one sounds like it could be both emotional and inspirational. The potential socio-cultural commentary and how the characters might deal with hardship and death are big draws for me, too. Fast-paced is typically a plus as well, although I hope that isn't at the detriment of character development. Thank you for the helpful review.
