I'm not much of a historical fiction reader, but your review made the book seem interesting. Although I would have liked it if Matt hadn't distanced himself from the action, I want to see how he fits into the story in the middle of the historical events, especially in the the time of Fidel Castro.

This is a well-written historical fiction novel which portrays the life of Matt, a young pilot during the late 70s – early 80s. When Matt finds gun bullets that had been smuggled in a plane he flew he realizes it is time for a change. This book written in the third person narrative describes his journey. Thank you for the descriptive and concise review on this book.

I agree that the switch from Matt discovering the bullets to him going on a self-discovery journey is a bit of a letdown. However, the book sounds engaging all the same. Thank you for a lovely review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction novel about a pilot who quits his job, because he does not want to get involved in smuggling and gets a new job, but finds that his career is not going so well. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Thank you for the well-written review. I don't think this book appeals to me honestly. I am not a huge fan of the plot or the genre. I do like how the book is exceptionally edited. That would increase the number of readers.
