I liked the way he added quotes before every mission and those quotes help in understanding the mission. In one or another way the quotes relate to the missions.

I'm not a Christian, but I really liked those passages coupled with other quotes.

This is how I felt about them as well! I also liked when they were paired with some completely different quotes

Considering, I am an atheist who is very picky about religious innuendos in the literature I read, I did not find the introductory bible passages in bad taste at all!

I actually liked it. It kind of gave a more personal touch to each chapter and give us an idea of what to expect.

I loved how the author paired a religous verse along with a regular quote at the beginning of each chapter. I personally am religious and the verse along with the quote just added a little extra to the story. The verse is also easy enough to skip over for those who do not wish to read religion.

I thought it was clever adding the Bible verses. At first it seemed random, but after a while, I realized it was actually a reflection of what was going on in the protagonist’s inner self at the time.

The biblical quotes apart from adding the religiousness in the book, it is meant to sometimes point to the weakness of men as something which is divine or beyond our control and also to motivate the reader by giving hope after failure and motivate them to brush of the dust and keep on moving.

Too much moralizing, in my opinion. I honestly read a few, but after that got bored and just skipped them.

In my view, the addition of bible quotes at the beginning of each man mission heralded what idea the author wanted to represent in the succeeding chapters. Also, to some extent, the inclusion of the bible quotes indicates that the bible has some impact on the author which I find commendable.

pshaw1414 wrote: 08 Jan 2020, 15:33 Personally, I am not religious. But I felt that the author adding both a famous quote and a biblical quote before each mission made the story a bit more personal to him. I wasn't affected or bothered by it a bit. I feel like if one is adamant about not reading biblical passages, they could opt to only read the famous quote above it and receive the same message.
I felt the same way. I assumed that the biblical quotes were the author's way of personalizing his text, but the famous quotes made it feel more relatable to those who don't align with his ideology.

Including the Bible passages seemed like a thoughtful addition by the author; but many of them were quoted out of context, and so failed to blend seamlessly with the quotes.

Still, it was refreshingly creative.
