What is your opinion of the video trailer for this book? I found the narrator's voice to be a bit too errie although I did think the visuals were good.

The voice was eerie and was a bit Harry Potter-esque - but I preferred it over the even creepier visuals!

I am struggling with this book because I’m having a difficult time visualizing what I am reading. I usually don’t have that problem. The trailer seemed to make clear the premise of the story with the illustrations from the story. I guess I’m not impressed, and maybe I am the wrong demographic for this story. It’s just not resonating with me. I know there have been comments that it is similar to Harry Potter, but why not be something new? I am going to finish it. I’m just hoping I get to a point where I’m liking it. The trailer was okay but not jaw dropping.

The trailer was a little creepy but gave a good overview of what the book is about.

I love how the trailer includes the beautiful illustrations. The narrator's voice was chilling, but I felt it resonated well with the book's premise, as the premise itself is a bit creepy. She did a good job of the overview without oversharing. The trailer was very eye-catching!

I actually really like this trailer. It's well-done, and the images from the book help to entice readers to read this great story. The voice is a little chilling (as others have said) but I feel that it helps to add mystery to the trailer.

If I hadn't already read the book...I would definitely want to read it now, after watching this trailer.

I enjoyed the illustrations of the trailer, they were beautiful, but I think it was a bit too creepy overall. I think it makes it seem like a much more sinister book than it is.

I agree with all the responses. I think the monotony of the voice is what got me. It was permanently creepy instead of various degrees of creepiness.

I can't yet decide if I like the trailer or not. It was a bit creepy but it was good. Gave a good base for the book itself with illustrations.

I like the trailer. I agree with other responders that the narrator's voice is creepy, but I kind of liked it, and the overview of the book is really good. I think it is a good trailer that will entice readers to pick up the book.

I have read this book. I am not a fan of this book. The trailer, by extension also did not leave an impression on me since it was mostly close up pans of the book cover. Nice art work in a CGI sort of way, but not much else can be said.

The illustrations are super creepy. But I don't mind the narrator's voice; I sort of like it.

I'm very particular about book trailers and sometimes I won't watch them until it's been a while since I've finished the book. This is because while I'm reading the book and just after finishing it, everything is still fresh in my mind and watching a movie (or book trailer in this case) just ruins the perfect picture I have in my mind. This one wasn't too bad though.

I found some of the illustrations and the voice creepy, but I can see them both appealing to a YA audience.
