I find it pretty inspirational how no matter what he never gave up. I am sure many in his position would have given up completely.

I'm totally against any form of discrimination especially racial discrimination. I find those who fight against racial discrimination heroric, so to me the author is a hero who inspired me to continue fighting against any form of discrimination. Thank you.

Standing up to his Aunt was very inspiring. Often times, what we fear is more afraid of us. Just that we haven't stood up against our fears.

The guy sounds like a force to be reckoned with. He seems resilient in spite of the odds. In the West, we turn a blind eye to the banes of these types of circumstances. He opens our eyes to their reality.

Being able to face such adversity with hope intact and a prosperous career at the end is immensely inspiring. Everyone has their different troubles and challenges throughout life, but Dr Douglas came through this without betraying his own values and himself.

I found this book highly empowering, and feel anyone still in the education system or particularly those teaching in the education system, should pick up this book.

They way he has embraced it all and made improvements in his personality is quite inspiring for me too.

I find the author so inspiring because of how hardworking he was. Also, how he spoke against discrimination with courage. To be honest, most of us can't step up and speak against discrimination like he did because of fear. But hey! He did it and that alone is an inspiration not just to me but many other people.
Books are beautiful.

I find the author inspiring, despite his poor background, discrimination and difficulties as a child he was able to overcome these challenges and succeed in life.

Yes without a doubt he is inspirational. He succeeded even in the most challenging situations. He beats many odds to triumph; which I believe is something that can inspire one.

I love that the author accepted the each and every situation he encountered, despite the difficulties. Picking up the pieces and striving ahead is an ingredient every ambitious individual needs.

His perseverance is a lesson we could all use. I was definitely inspired by his unwillingness to let anything keep him from his goals. Although the hurdles were many and some of them quite discouraging, he didn’t let it stop him.

I admire his courage and will-power to complete his dreams no matter what the odds were. Furthermore he went on to write a book and his courage helped other's so he seems to be a real superhero. 😊

Yes, absolutely. I think anyone who can not live through the circumstances of the book but also be brave enough to write about it is worth admiration.
