Yes it was. There couldn't be a better ending than that portraying the power of faith and solidarity.

I mean, in life there are times when things happen and we have no scientific or reasonable explanations for them. It happens.
So, yeah, maybe it was one of those fictional things, maybe not. That's the beauty of it; you don't always know everything for sure.

Sometimes life is more unexpected and unbelievable than fiction. We have a saying "Life beats the film". When something of the sort of the said ending happens in life, just the protagonists are happy that it happened that way. When it happens in fiction, all the readers (well, almost all) enjoy the ride and are happy for the characters. How generous of the author to make so many people happy. :tiphat:

I didn't think it was plausible. When Myra discovered him, I thought he was dead, but I guess the story needed a happy ending and needed the hero not to die.

Honestly yes, I have a read a couple of real life stories of people surviving against worse odds so it wasn't unrealistic for me.

Charlyt wrote: 02 Apr 2019, 00:21 I think that it could be plausible. Correct me if I'm wrong, but at a certain cold temperature the heart slows down enough that it seems like it's barely beating at all. Kind of like the person is hibernating. But I'm sure there are other factors involved like how cold the temperature should be or how fast the cold takes over your body. But I think there's a certain amount of possibility there.
I don't think it was very plausable. Because like you said, there are too many any factors regarding, necrosis, nutrition, shock, enzymes. Plus he couldn't have been in the best physical condition given the whole physically tormenting journey he had been on.

I don't think it was plausible. And this is one thing I dislike about stories. Making implausible endings for the sake of a happy ending. I much rather prefer a bittersweet, plausible, ending.

Since we do not know the exact conditions, such as how sheltered he was, how much wood he had for the fire, et cetera, it would be difficult to say if it was truly plausible. I do think that the author's purpose for William being found alive was more to focus on the connection between nature and spirituality.

This ending does seem like something that could come to pass. The limits of the human body vary from person to person - and in cold temperatures, the human body behaves much differently than how it usually would. I also think that William's strength of will also played a huge part in his survival.

I think it is plausible since William was barely alive. It would have seemed unbelievable if he was hale and hearty. Also, we don't know how long he will continue to live and it will be more realistic if he suffers from some condition due to being out in the cold for so long with no proper food and water.

It's been so long since I was here that I forgot why the ending should be plausible or not. I have been banned from the review team so I cannot really participate any longer. Thank you for the comment!

As much as I would like to be on William's side here, I don't think it was plausible. Such hypothermia attacks take some time to affect the body completely, and once they do, it's almost to recover from them.
