Not stealing. Salvage is a legitimate business on the coasts around the world. Whether it's logs that have broken free of booms or abandoned ships. This was Larry and Louise's career. Well, Louise's family. Larry took over from her dad as he was the best man for the job. I was rooting for them and very happy they got the salvage and managed to keep it. Can't wait to find out what happens next!!

Larry and Louise were so greedy and desperate and thus why they tried to steal the sheep despite the fact that they were zealous entrepreneurs.

The laws concerning salvage say it isn't stealing. Maybe it feels unethical, but even when we're children we learn the old saying 'Finders keepers- losers weepers"... The risk involved outweighs the ethics problem, and the fact that it's set up this way adds incentive for getting salvage work done.

It wasn't really stealing, it was business. Through this book, I learned that such a business exists. It was a fair game. The sad part was Larry died and Louise only realized in the end how much he loved her.

desperate times call for desperate measures, eh?
Louise and Larry were in a desperate situation. Like "what do we have to lose?"

I don't think they were stealing the boat. In all fairness, they got there first and It was a fair deal. It was the kind of opportunity they needed and they took it.

This is a standard way of dealing with salvage tows worldwide so it was not stealing. The first one to get (and keep) a line on the ship in question has a legitimate claim to the salvage. This is what helped create so much suspense in the race to get there first.

I wouldn't call it stealing. They were in a desperate situation and based on what I gleaned from Louise's explanation, it's standard procedure whenever stuff like this happens. It's basically a 'first come, first served' type of scenario, and something that anyone else in their line of business would have done.

Technically it isn't stealing. As someone pointed out that it's an abandoned ship, so if they get to it first, they can claim it. They were in a desperate situation financially and they felt like it was their only option at the time. I liked how they quickly assembled the crew and tried to do their best even though the future was uncertain.

It wasn't stealing that is the business they are in, the first one gets the money. And after everything that happened I think Louise and her team deserved it.

I’m not sure they were “stealing” the ship. From what I can see there was no ownership, it was by whoever got there first. They were only trying to do their best for their business, themselves, and their employees.

On the one hand, I appreciated the rescue mission of Louise and Larry and admired their courage to embark on it. On the other hand, I considered their initiative to embark on this mission just their ambition and greed to save their businesses.
