Many of the replies mentions that getting out of suicidal thoughts was the best change that the author has made, and how can I disagree with that. Choosing life over death by a suicidal person is quite rare and actually fantastic

Cleaning up his life of all negative influences, and choosing not to die. I think many people have had mythic experiences, they just don't talk about it, or they try to find some other ways to justify what happened.

I agree. People are comprised of far more than a single decision, however life-altering it might be.

I think choosing to live instead of taking his life was the most significant and noticeable change he made.
