Try Something New in the New Year!

In honor of the New Year, this challenge is all about trying new things.

To make the challenge more difficult read multiple books (2 for each, 3 for each, etc.) for each catagory.

Read one (or more) books:
  • By authors you've never read before.
  • That begin new-to-you series.
  • In genres you've never read before.
  • Set in a country you've never read about before.
  • With a protagonist that has a new-to-you aspect about them.
Have fun!

Interesting ideas. Finding a new genre might be hard for some on here though don't you think?

I love your ideas for the challenge. Since joining this club in December, I am amazed at all the great books we are exposed to each month- books I might never have known about. My biggest challenge as a new member is finding the time to read all the books that I now want to- and still find time for anything else....like eat, sleep....

Ahhh...but the good thing about that is there are always sub-genres.

I'm thinking about trying a space opera. :D

I like how you give good ideas, reading as my favorite activity, as I start new year, improving my reading goal should be a starting point.

That’s a great ideas. It’s how I got hooked on historical fiction. Stepping outside your comfort zone can sometimes be difficult, but very rewarding.

I really do not mind really new books, new genre and so on, as long as the book are good ones. My only criteria for book is for it to be well written and interesting. I also love books by authors with great sense of humor. There are many great books out there is finding a good book with a different genre than I am used to should not be hard.

I love your suggestions and ideas but, Can I really read non fiction this year? If I would like to challenge myself, I'd do just that though.

I love this idea. Think it could be good to read a different genre for a change. I'm not good with change though, haha, but I'll definitely try.
