Personally, the first thing I thought of was Scream when I saw the cover. In this case though, it's not just an image tacked on for the association, so I think it works. In my case, it actually helped because I am a child of the 90s, and the seeing the cover and the nostalgia that came with it naturally drew me to the book. It doesn't hurt that I enjoy the genre

The author may be looking to capitalise a little on the success and reputation of the Scream movies, which is fine. The only potential problem might be if readers don't quite get the sort of story they were expecting.

I think the use of a ghostface that is so close to the Scream mask from the Scream franchise panders to the mass of fans for that franchise, pulling in a lot more readers than the book would have otherwise. I think Torbert did this on purpose to pull in more readers, and I think it was a poor way to bring in more business. I think that the book stands on its own merit, and it wasn't necessary to get readers in such a cheap way.

Using the mask on the cover page is a sure indication of thriller scenes in the novel. It would appeal to lovers of thriller novels.

I thought that there would tie-ins to Scream or a cult of some sort.

I think the ghost face mask would be better to be replaced by something else. This cover feels misleading to me as a reader and does not really convey the themes of the book very well.

I think a different mask could have been used for the killer. In my opinion, the mask reminds me of Scream.

I thought it was an odd choice for a cover when it didn’t really seem to relate to the story that much. It definitely draws the eye and is a catchy title.

I am not so much a fan of horror so if I don't know anything about the book or haven't read the synopsis, I would entirely passed up on it base on the cover alone. But I'm positive that it could be better.

In my opinion using the image on the book cover helps the book and the cover of the book is very apt.

I've mentioned this before elsewhere, but I genuinely thought the cover page was a parody of common horror tropes. That the author "played it straight," so to speak, was kind of jarring.

Yeah, it gives the book an added advantage.There is suspense created in the readers after looking at the book's cover page.

Yes, it creates suspense, specially black color of the cover is also eye catching.
