I think the writer shouldn’t include erotic scenes if they can’t be direct

I don't think sex scenes in books are banned by every religion in the world. In fact, sex is pretty important for every religion to stay alive.

I think the erotic scenes had the same problem as the rest of the novel -- being written with language that was too superficially emotional, too overwrought. And I struggled to connect with the characters having sex just as much as I struggled to connect with them generally.

I love your use of overwrought to describe the language in this book. I think it perfectly sums up a lot of what I was bothered by throughout the novel. The way that Catrin was written made everything she experienced seem like a huge deal, even if she was just describing a cat in the hallway.

I confess that I feel shy when reading those pages so, I ignore them and keeping readeing the next pages.
I find that I waste my time when finding those secenes which surpasses good morals.

The language that the author used was adapted to the context of the book, it reminded me of something forbidden and passionate just like the relationship between the two characters. I read other books where the erotic scenes were so explicit that they were vulgar and hard to digest.
I agree! I did not think the erotic scenes were really erotic. In my opinion the author used language that fit with the time period of the novel.

Honestly I feel it depends on the person. Some people don't have matured minds to read those scenes this makes them to have endless fantasis abput it.And sometimes the scene are too vulgar. Looking at the religious aspect it could be considered wrong

Love scenes are difficult for a lot of writers. Word choice really sets the tone for the scene, and the kind of book you're writing. If it isn't done well it can be really cringe-y. I didn't think the ones here were that bad, not the best but not the worst I've read either.

Using lay language would have disrupted the flow and the ancient and noble sense of the book. Writer also might have thought the same way

Erotic or love-making scenes normally don't appeal to in any book. In this case, it is badly written which ruined the experience even more for me so I skipped most of it.

I agree that they were totally awful and poorly written but I think the author was trying to be somewhat tasteful about the erotic scenes.

I felt they were the best written parts of the book, but were a bit out of character with the rest of the book.
