I ended up purchasing a copy of the second book, but then it was featured as BOTD! I wanted to review it for OBC, so I claimed a review copy. As I said above, I already purchased a copy of the third book as well, and then Netgalley sent me a copy, and then it was BOTD here on OBC, so I am happy to review it for so many forums! The books are worthy of all the accolades they receive.

So I have never read the first book but was given the second one to review and I’m reading that one now. Did I miss much in the first book?

I hope you enjoyed the second book! I wish I had seen your comment sooner. A lot happens in the first book. The author leaves each book hanging on a cliffhanger, and Dagger's Destiny picks up right in the middle of the closing scene of Apollo's Raven. Looking back at my review for Dagger's Destiny, I see that I mentioned that the author did not devote much time to explaining the events of the first book in the second installment. This is also the case with the third book, Amulet's Rapture. I recommend you go back and read the first book if you have a chance :) It's a great series!

I just might have to. There was a lot of context that I’m pretty sure I missed. Is there a third one yet or is it still being written?

I've read the third book, but I have no interest in continuing. It was not my cup of tea, unfortunately.

I'm currently on book 3 of 5 and will continue reading the series until the end. It took me some time to feel fully immersed in the story, but once the plot started thickening in book 1, I became very invested and wanted to hear how Catrin and Marcellus's story would end!

Read the second book, though the ending left me in a lot of suspense. I enjoyed it and felt for the kingdom of Cantiaci.
