It is probably hard to include both likes and dislikes as it is meant to be a short book. But I think would be good if each book was just a little longer. Then one of the books could be about how he handles things or situations he doesn't like. I think Toni is meant to be seen as a well-rounded child and how children deal with negative things is important to their development.

I like the idea of making a separate one for dislikes. I would love to see more about Toni and his personality show through more. But it's great for early learning.

It depends on how the author adds the dislikes. If it disliking things like getting tired in the morning so he needs to sleep on time, then it's fine. But if the author adds other careless dislikes like Toni not liking football, etc., it might make children want to copy him and dislike something even if they hadn't disliked it before.

I agree. It should be something disliked to help maybe a good habit. Like, I dislike a toothache so I eat less or no candy, etc.

I agree dislikes should be included because it would mold Toni into a more realistic character for children to follow. For example: Toni dislikes littering, hurting animals, being mean, etc.

Hm, I think that dislikes could help Toni to seem like a realistic character to adults. Nevertheless, little kids don't really have that many dislikes. They may say that they hate broccoli one day and love it the next. By giving Toni dislikes, it could influence some kids to say that they never want to eat broccoli again because Toni disliked it. A rational adult or older kid wouldn't think that way, but a little one might. By giving Toni no dislikes, it just made the book simpler.

Yes, I definitely think adding Toni's dislikes would bring more realism to the story. It is only to be expected that everyone have their dislikes.

Since the book is been propelled toward children who are just beginning to read, it's okay not to add Toni's dislikes.The addition of Toni's dislikes can make the book complicated.

Yeah, you are right. Toni could have shown his dislikes for certain things that are bad such as, uncleanliness and dishonesty, to encourage the children to dislike them too.

Nice point. However, I think the author's focus was on the similarities of ordinary children and a superhero. I think for this first book, the author's intent was dead on. Maybe this can be explored more in the coming books to show his dislikes as well.
