I think the illustrations are wonderful! And yes, they can help a child gain confidence in reading, if only because the pictures give the child a clue about what activity they are reading about. More importantly though, the pictures reflect diversity and inclusion, in that Toni apparently has friends of different races and genders. And the pictures show Toni happy at work and play, which is something we all should strive for.

I think the illustrations work to successfully show children what the words they are reading mean, thus helping them learn

I enjoyed both the cover and the bright illustrations. Young children are definitely influenced by illustrations as they are what hold their attention while the story is being read to them. Pictures of Toni doing positive and helpful things really help to role-model appropriate behaviour to children, which I feel would build their confidence to do the right thing.

The pictures are simple and clear and that is good for kids. Besides, they are inspirational too, as the kids imagine themselves drawing like that.

The cover page is attractive. Yes, children learn a lot from illustrations because they are able to see it. This helps in retaining the information for longer periods.

The illustrations were simple but were so appropriate for the story the author was trying to tell.

I think the cover was great. The illustrations on the cover are a picture all by itself. Children will gain confidence, curiousity and understanding of the book.
