Should the eyes have always been the same?

Alex first said that when Angela was in her trance as Fioretta, her eyes changed from brown to forest green. Then, it stated that Gerhard had the same different colored eyes as Alex did. Should Angela’s eyes have stayed the same during her trances as Fioretta, or was that so far back that it made sense for them to change? Still, how come Alex’s eyes stayed the same, but Angela’s changed? Could it have been to prove that she was ina trance? I think that the eyes should have always stayed the same because the eyes are considered the doorways of the soul. What do you think?

That part didn't make very much sense to me. His eyes were always the same so it made sense but her eyes changing did not. But with the question you bring up about doorways to the soul that totally makes sense to me now, especially with the ending. She can see and relive all these things and he can only see it when in contact with her.

Her eyes needed to change so the audience could no something supernatural was happening, his eyes needed to stay the same so it was clear to her and the audience who he is/was.

But for the lore and functionality of the story, it makes no sense.

I found the change in the eyes a strange happening. I wonder if such is possible in the society today.

The whole eye colour issue is confusing but I guess it works if you don't think about it too much...

The eye can't hide what the mind thinks. They ought to remain unchanged.

The eyes should have stayed the same due to the tact that it is the same soul living many lives. The eyes are the window to the soul, and that would be the simplest way to show that.

Even though reincarnation is a hot button issue that is much debated, it maybe possible for a soul to be reborn as a different race, sex, and contain recessive genes.

The change in eyes was a paranormal event. It was a mystery.I was enthusiastic on getting to know the powers behind the changing eyes.

I was confused a bit when Alex always had the eyes of his predecessors, but Angela's changed depending on who was in control. It would have made more sense for both of their eyes to stay the same or both of their eyes to change.

I do not mind the eye-color changing. That doesn't necessarily mean that the soul has changed does it? You could change the color of door to your room, and not change the room setting or funisher.

It makes sense that they changed to me. Guiliani didnt have the two color eyes and yet Gerhard and Alex did. Alex never been directly possessed by the past he only talked to one of his former selves. Angela on the other hand became fioretta and Sophia because they were not just dreams at some point they were possessing her which is why she spoke their language and couldn't remember her interactions with Alex once she was out of the trance. So yes the eye color change helped to distinguish when she was herself and when she was one of her former selves.

I liked that they changed.

My whole approach to this is to ignore what could potentially be a big plothole in the story. I also tried to rationalize it by thinking this way; people are different thus Angela's eyes changed while Alex's did not.

Hmm... I think that's an interesting question. Wherefore, considering that Angela went into a trance and Alex did not, it seems reasonable that her eyes would change and his would not.

I don’t think that her eyes needed to change because, as many said, they are like a window to the soul. But for the purpose of specifying if she was in a trance or not this was a useful way to do it. The eyes could change or not change, the soul is the same eitherway, but I don’t understand why Angela’s would and not Alex’s.
