My favorite couple is Fioretta Gorini and Giuliano de Medici. Their love story is realistic and described with much depth.

Hands downs, Alex and Angela because I enjoy living in the present rather the past. Not to mention, I don't believe in ghosts.
And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. (Revelation 20:12 (NKJV) :reading-7:

Angela Renatus and Alex. It's a mirror of the society today.

I do not believe that I had one favorite couple in the book. When I viewed the couples I felt as if they were all Fioretta and Guiliano. Just in different time frames with different names. I believe that for me I just have seen the love they had to reflect throughout each couple as well as the good times and hardships each of the couples seemed to have to face.

Someone said Sophia was strongest, which I agree with. She is my favorite individual, but Alex and Angela are my favorite couple. They were the most developed.

Fioretta and Giuliano. Because of the time period marriages were arranged based on politics and real love was more on the sidelines. I liked that the author did not just make her a mistress which was so common in those days. But then if she had the painting would not have had such significance!

I also thought that their story was the most tragic.

I think I like the first couple best. I felt that of the past lives, their love story was the most filled out. The latter of the two was more hot and heavy and didn't show them quite as much as a functioning couple. The present day couple moved the fastest, and while it can be argued that it was because of their past lives breaking through to make that love stronger, it was a bit too fast for me.

I live for the fairy tale ending, but I love the tragic couples as well. While I love Angela and Alex, I think my favorite is Sophia and Gerhard, because they had to go through a lot to try to get to where they could live happily. Plus, Gerhard had to deal with overprotective brothers, which is just sweet and I feel for Gerhard. Sophia and Gerhard had to try to hide during the war, had to escape quietly with the painting, and then make it home so they could try to be happy. I really love those two.

Giuliano and Fioretta took the cup for me. I liked how the two loved each other, it was as though I was watching a romance movie every time they were mentioned in the book.

I would definitely have to say Giuliano Medici and Fioretta Gorini.

They were the original lovers, the other two couples bound by fate and lust. While they were all full of lust, Giuliano was also attracted to Fioretta for her mind, and with those two, you really see why they truly loved each other, as well as the era they were in.

For example, Alex didn't start calling Angela 'baby' and 'honey' until he believed they were fated to be together, even though he didn't start pointing out things that weren't about her body until later. At first, it was really just her body, and then fate.

Giuliano Medici and Fioretta Gorini just seem more pure and authentic to me.
