I think the past life regressions was not true because at the end of the book Angela starts to see other lives, so I think Angela has some kind of gift. Maybe she is a seer.

Not just Alex, even Scordata's actions which were based on the conviction that Angela had a connection to the painting seemed somewhat doubtful to me.

Past-Life Regression is somewhat a delicate matter I believe. According to some on the internet, it doesn't really happen in an instant and there are things you must do to access that vital information. Adding it to the story is an interesting take, it can be confusing and hard to believe. However the plot really kicks in with that ^^

When the man's eyes started moving in the painting, I have to admit I started rolling my eyes. I also thought Alex was too quick to take Angela's experiences as fact.
I had a friend who did past life regression, it was years ago, and she believed the results, so I'm sure some people will go for it as realistic.
The part with the eyes in the painting was a bit much. :roll2:

I personally believe in past-life regression. I have had my experiences. So in the book it was very much believable for me. It wasn't just a fantasy. This is a far-fetched concept for some, and fact for others.

I love the aspect of interpretation in this book, so I love the element of past-life regression in this book.

Although not real it is still fun to fantasize about the possibility.

Past life regression needs balance as it borders fantasy. Under usage makes it blunt

I don't think that the past life regression is handled realistically. The dreams are okay but visions is downright fantasy.

That's funny! I certainly don't like the unrealistic sense of supernatural ghosts crossing over from past to present. Thus, sheer fantasy to me.

Is it real or is just a fantasy? I guess it is my decision to make.

I'm personally a believer of past-life regression and reincarnation, but I've come across novel that don't execute the phenomenon well. Whether Belle Ami did her research or not on the topic, I'm not sure, but when it falls more into fantasy, that's how I'll view for the sake of the storytelling.

I'm also a believer of past-life regression. Honestly, I feel the view of the phenomena depends on the approach of the book. While I want to say it was realistic in Ami's novel, it did borderline fantasy, which why I feel this novel leans more toward the latter.

The concept of past-life regression was realistic enough.Things like that do happen.

I agree that Alex was a bit too quick to take Angela’s experiences as “fact.” I also think the past-life regression angle, while plausible in real life, has a fantastical element to it in the story. I liked it, but it overall felt like it was out of the realm of possibility.
