I wouldn't recommend this book for young children, but I think it would be appropriate for teenagers.

I read the book, and I personally don't see any reason why kids or at least teenagers shouldn't be allowed to read it. The book was informative to say the least.

As with all media generally thought of as adult-related or for mature audiences, I think with proper guidance and if the parent or guardian believes the lesson is one that the child can receive and analyse properly, then absolutely, yes. If you believe your child is too impressionable and easily led awry, I'm not sure it would be on the list of things one should introduce to them at that specific point in their lives.

I think this book would be okay for older kids, especially if it is accompanied by conversation with a parent. Younger kids shouldn't have to worry about stuff like this yet.

I don't think that kids would be able to understand the contents and also the context of this book. Also keeping tabs on the many different threads of sub stories or themes would be quite difficult for them. Maybe an movie interpretation would be more fitting.

Weapons should definitely not be part of the things that go into young people's minds. The fact that weapons are considered normal is a little worrying, because they are not just a tool, but a tool for taking lives, and that is the problem. Children definitely need to know what weapons are for and be guided by their parents in this particular regard, and the definition of a weapon should not be misunderstood.

This is a delicate question, but in my opinion, I wouldn't let my kids read this book yet. Maybe when they are over 18 years old.

It’s not like kids will have no exposure to guns and their role in society if we don’t discuss it with them. At least if we do, they will know where we stand. As it is, I don’t see a problem with older kids reading this. Like you said, it will prompt discussion.

For me, this book is definitely a no for kids. However if a child would decide to read a book of this kind, it must be under the guidance of a sensible adult.

This book is not recommended for kids because of its heavy violence and sexual contents in it.

I wouldn't suggest the book to kids, unless they are going to be reading it under the supervision of thier parents, teachers, or other well meaning adults.
