Do you think 'The Reel Sisters' book would make a good movie?

Post by HollandBlue »

Do you think The Reel Sisters would be a good movie? Why? Any suggestions for the cast?

I think it would make a great 'chick flick with a twist.' One of the twists is the male-dominated sport of fly fishing.
Possible cast:
Sophie-Sandra Bullock
Rose-Goldie Hawn
Veronica-Halle Berry
Amanda-
Melody-

I'm not sure who I would pick for the younger 'girls.'

I'm not sure about the cast either, but I am sure it would make a memorable movie...

I would love to see this book as a film! I think it would be very fun to see the relationships between the girls really come to life.

I guess I'm the outlier since I find it difficult to see how this book could be translated in film form! Each character has a lot of inner thoughts that would probably not be conveyed onscreen if it were a movie..

I don't think so. I cannot visualize it becoming a movie.

A skilled actor could make you feel the inner thoughts of their character at any given moment. And the more inner thoughts in the book that can be communicate by a moment of the body language, the less likely they are to cut a tiny detail that added to the magic of the whole story. Of course, they could do some voice overs if it was essential to providing all the needed info.

I think this book would be a great movie. I kept picturing it as such while I was reading it. I think Priscilla Shirer would be great as Veronica. Awkwafina comes to mind as Melody. I loved her in Ocean’s 8.

I think it would make a good movie. It would need some really good casting to make it not look over produced and fake since the fishing could look amateur-ish if it was done wrong.

The story of fly fishing inspires me to write a good book on one's passion of life and how to make it a profession. It inspires me gain a practical experience of cow rearing and prepare a documentary or a video related to it!

I think it would appear on the screen as a powerful movie. Perfect characterizations and a good idea(plot) are the keys to award-winning.

I'm not sure who I'd cast, but I definitley think it would make a good movie. The characters are relatable and I found myself laughing and crying with them. They would need to find someone very approachable to play Sophie, someone older and wiser to play Rose, and a somewhat odd girl to play Melody. I think Amanda and Veronica could be played by a variety of different people.

I can't agree otherwise, It sure will make a great movie...a blockbuster if you like. While I read the book, the story appeared so real and genuine. I'll love to see the movie someday.

I think it would make an excellent movie because it teaches about friendship, along with other lessons in life. It deals with real-life and it's tragedies but it does contain comedy throughout. I could envision your cast on the big screen. I would suggest Brianne Tju as Melody and Sydney Park as Amanda.
