I did think the end was a little abrupt. I like cliffhangers in books, especially in a book like Strong Heart when characters are dealing with some "real" and long-lasting issues. However, I don't think we were left with a cliffhanger, so much as an unfinished last chapter. I just kind of forced myself to make peace with the lack of resolution. What I mean to say is that I wasn't expecting another installment, but I definitely welcome it!

I'm very happy that a sequel will tie up some of the loose ends of the story, as I wasn't fully satisfied with the ending.

Yes, I agree that the story ended too suddenly, especially regarding Sarah's family and the Buckhorn situation. I am happy to hear the author is writing a sequel.
Interested in books that help one's spirit move beyond the ordinary.

I liked the ending. It felt like an open-ended book. I generally don't like abrupt endings, but it went with the story.

Yes, there was no suspence to the ending so the ending felt very abrupt.

While I was reading I was hoping to come to various conclusions but most of the issues seemed puzzled and unsolved. For example, how violent was the clash .....

I also felt the book ended suddenly and felt unfinished. I felt one question or situation called for a resolution (good or bad) for the story to stand alone and all the other situations provided the basis for a sequel.

"Strong heart" is a very interesting story . I am anxiously Waiting for his next series for review. Yes I think the ending was bit sudden but it was the demand of this story to start a next series.

I agree the story was built up and then suddenly ended!

I almost gave the book a lower score but I saw that Sheldon intended to make it a series. Kinda wish I knew about that before I started reading. I'm probably going to read the next book just to see how things work out.

I don't think it ended too soon. I believe it was the author's intent to end the book with a cliffhanger. It's a good way to lure the reader into the sequel.
