What's the olds saying? That which doesn't kill us makes us stronger. In that respect, it was good for Sarah. It also seems to have given her a purpose and a "grounding" if you will. It allowed (or forced) her to connect with a strength she didn't know she had. Something tells me it's a strength she will need in the books to come.

I agree with the thing telling you she will need it. As it is, she is already using the strength.

It was bad that she had made everyone worry but in the end it was good because she saved tom and his friends with the things she learned from her disappearance

I think the disappearance slowly brought her closer but I also think when they returned from their trip and she didn't get to live with them then lived in a place that put her in a difficult position made her even closer. I think it opened Sarah's eyes up to realize what she would have had with Tom so when she returned she tried to make things better.

It was mixed. Good for her because I made her stronger. Bad because she went through a lot of suffering. Additional bad because of the stress it out her grandfather and friends through.

I think so too, it brought them closer, which is a good thing.

The skills she learnt helped her later on. For example with the dart making and throwing. I also felt that she was less angsty and therefore more likeable after she returned.

To be fair, I bet that what happened leaves some lasting damage, how would that effect her mental state? Maybe this will be explored in the next book.

Her disappearance seemed to be for the better. It humbled her and taught her a pretty awesome skill. She didn't seem as bratty after her adventure though she was still unapologetically outspoken.

Her outspokenness is an innate nature, not sure anything will take that away. I really don't want it taken away actually, it adds to the fun.

I liked the part when she learnt the skills. It was useful for her.
