Great question! In the end, Sarah became deserving of the name Strong Heart because of how she reacted to and grew from her experiences.

I believe anyone encountering triubulations, which this character seems to have done, deserves the title 'strong heart'. It takes a strong heart to go through problems and some out alive let alone be a victor.

She deserves her name, through the book she always shows a great ability to face everything that comes against her and demonstrates her strength even in the most difficult moments.

Reflecting on Strong Heart's behavior before and after her disappearance, I believe she more than earned her name and will continue to prove herself worthy of the name for chapters to come. In most Native cultures, there is more to the name than just a few words used to represent the entirety of that name. The names have facets, journeys of a sense. She was angry and rebellious before and now she is more humble, understanding, receptive of others thoughts and emotions. More will come of this young, Strong Heart.

Sure, this is true. There is nothing that came her that she did not face boldly. The name suits her.

Sarah certainly deserves the name Strong Heart, not only in the tale from the past but in the present day story as well. She illustrates strength of character and an overabundance of passion (or better said, temper) repeatedly.

Sometimes I like to just look it up in the dictionary.

Heart: (2) The central or innermost part of something.

Strong: (2) Able to withstand great force or pressure.

Kids often hide their innermost feelings because they don't often know how to express them. They also have an intestinal fortitude that brings out the best in them, not always in the best manner, but eventually the best.

I think Strong Heart is fitting and wise.

Even though, she was a teenager she had the courage to continue pursuing difficult times in the peninsula. So, definitely, she deserves the title (Strong Heart).

I think so. She's a fighter and she's tough. She held on to it all pretty well.

She is given that name by the leader of the ancient people, and I think it fits her well. She exhibits many different types of strength in the book, and given all the things she went through, she develops compassion for other's difficulties too.

I think Sarah truly deserves the name Strong Heart. She faced many challenges, which are rarely faced by people twice her age.
