My parents weren't the best in the world but they never put vanity above us. We had love all the way and i believe they are a big blessing from God!

I feel more of a connection with the book. My dad and I stopped having any real relationship when he and my mom got divorced. I'm still close to his parents, but he and I really only speak once a year on Christmas. I'll give him sweatpants or something and he'll give me a card with some cash and that's it, really.

I see that’s a unique aspect of this book, never noticed that before. Well, when I was younger my parents were really busy like my mom was very hardworking so she was always busy but my dad knew the importance of spending time with your family. So, I’m not very close to my mom but my dad is my best friend.

I used to be really close to them both, but once I moved out, things maybe strained as we all adjusted to our new normal. Things are currently a work in progress since we have all become different people. It's like we are meeting again for the firs time, in a sense.

I know this is an older discussion, but I was just able to start this book, and I am so thankful for my parents. We definitely are better now that we don’t live in the same house, but I have never once doubted their love or sacrifice for me.

We didn’t have a whole lot growing up, but I never lacked. They worked hard, yet tried to make time for our family and to teach us how to be kind and succeed in life. I was definitely blessed with excellent parents, despite those times we frustrate one another.

I have a good relationship with my parents. However, there are times when things are a little strained but we manage to get through it.

When I was a teenager I often didn't understand my mom, I took her for granted too many times and I regret how hostile I was to her. Growing up I saw how important she is for me and now I make sure to show her my love every day.

I don't have a relationship at all with my father, any contact with him would be unhealthy to my mental health and emotional stability.

But I am completely honest and close to my mom. She knows me better than anyone else.

I can't say my relationship with my parents is good. I don't really talk to them about my life. We don't really quarrel and all, but just more of the standard parent-child relationship. They've provided every thing I needed so I am grateful and all. Beyond that, we don't really have much connection.

I'm very thankful to have very good parents. They were a little strict when I was young but it wasn't extreme. I started appreciating them more as I got older.

I always have a great time with my parents. But not as often with my father because he works for our family. My relationship with them is the most important relationship i have.
