In Superhighway, Alex has to struggle between telling his girlfriend that he has a superpower or keeping her in the dark. If you woke up with an awesome superpower that you could keep secret, would you tell your love ones? Why or why not?

Oh man, my husband would be so excited if I had a superpower. I do not keep secrets from him...except for where the cookies are hidden

I probably wouldn't tell my parents though, they have a tendency to over react to large events or surprises!

It's great that you do not keep secrets from your husband. I think relationships need to be build on trust. I think my parents underreact to large events and surprises because they often overreact to simple things.

I would only tell my partner, he knows everything already. Oh, but imagine how much fun we'll be able to have ?

I think relationships MUST be built on trust. Relationships built on lies will not last in my opinion. So I would definitely tell my husband. I don't think I'd tell anyone else, though.

Yes I would tell those closest to me whom I trust. Something like this would be so life changing that I don't think you could hide it successfully. Also, I would be looking for emotional support on how to navigate such a huge change.

Yes, my husband would not be mad only disappointed that he does not have superpowers too! Plus I have watched enough superhero shows (Luke Cage, Daredevil) and movies (Avengers, etc..) to know that everyone will probably find out eventually!

I would tell close family members. The reason is because it is too much to try to handle and deal with on my own. Also I would want my family to know that I have this awesome power that we can benefit from.

I do not think that is something I would keep under covers for long try as I might. And eventually, my partner would find out, so I would be better off confiding in people who are close to me.

It depends what kind of a superpower I have. If it hurts him, I better not tell him immediately. I have to prepare him for the truth.

I think I would because I really wouldn't want to deal with it on my own. I would only tell the people that I could trust though, not ones that would go telling the world about it of course.

If I had superpowers, I think I would keep them to myself as long as I could. Anyone could let the secret slip in idle conversation and then it'd be a secret no more. Unscrupulous people could take advantage of me (and endanger my dear ones) for their vile purposes.

I do agree the fact that people would try to take advantage over you would be a serious problem. I think I would still tell my closet loved ones in hope that they would keep it to themselves.

This question reminds me of the "X-Men" story published by Marvel Comics. The people hated the mutants. The mutants suffered a lot because of their powers and some of them were even murdered. In this case, it is better to keep my power secret.

A secret told is knowledge shouted to the world.

And knowledge is power. I would avoid telling anyone if I could - bigger advantage for me that way
