kina wrote:It should be a movie only if directors and producers who honestly care about the story being genuinely translated to the screen. It worries me especially since the main characters (Haatim and Abigail) are not white at all, and stories like that tend to be changed in favor of Hollywood prejudice often. If a good director and producer who came along respects all that, I'd gladly like to see it be made into a movie!
You have an excellent point here. Whoever does make this movie should take note of this. Good thinking!

Yes, I think this book would make a great movie provided that the story of the book sticks to the story of the novel so that essence of the novel is not decreased.

When I read this book I imagined in my mind what it would be like as a movie. It was creepy, chilling, and a bit unfamiliar which made it all the better if it was placed in the hands of the right movie makers. This would be a great hit but a possible miss if not done well. I hope that if it does get to the silver screen that the right people would be behind it and stay true to the 'essence' of the book.

Yes! I think Raven's Peak could be turn into an action-packed horror movie. While reading the story, I imagined Aziz Ansari portraying Haatim.

I totally agree with that. It will be a great challenge to see the characters come alive. It will also have a lot of special effects and action on it.

Kudos to the author!

Now, given the breathtaking speed with which the story moves,
I think this story qualifies to be considered to be taken as a movie!

What do you all think?

:tiphat:
I think it will make a good movie with its exciting twists and turns.

The story is well written to be a film. The director will not find it difficult to convert the story to a successful film.

This could very well be one of the books where you could say that movie is better than the book. The story was fast paced, but there was something missing and I found it a bit hard to connect to the characters. But I guess a movie could easily bridge that gap.

a movie is a good idea but it would be a good idea if there would be twists and turns to it so that the person who has read the book may have a movie experience that is different from the book experience

I would definitely want to see "Raven's Peak" as a movie. The visuals would just be amazing if they do it right. The book has wonderful characters that I think would project well on screen.

He said he wasn't sure on the other characters but for Abigail he liked Zoe Saldana or the actress who plays Missendi in Game of Thrones (Daenerys' servant girl). What about you guys? What actors do you see playing the roles of the characters?
I would love Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) to be Abigail. For Haatim, I could see Manish Dayal or Dev Patel.

it would make a great movie but I don't think I'd watch. With all the gory details in this book some if the scenes are guaranteed to be disgusting.

Definitely true. They end up changing things so much and ruin some really great concepts.
Agreed. But the entire time i read the book, all i could think was *quiet voice* movie movie movie! Lol. I even put it in my review... check it out. Tell me what you think. It'd really be a good movie, even more so because there are sequels.
Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be...

I agree with you. I forgot Hollywood has to make it into a movie!!lol. I think it'd be great as a movie as long as they follow along with the book not add and skip like they normally do.
