In Raven's Peak third book, we are moved with Haatim's confusion and mixed emotions with his father of what he did. His actions resulted to the death of many people. He loved his father but he can not just forget and forgive him.

I was about eight. A neighborhood boy was trying to hit me with a chain.

My dad came out to the yard and didn't say a word to the other kid. He just walked up to me and started teaching me how to throw a punch. The kid slowly backed away and didn't bother me again. In hindsight, it strikes me as a great balance between showing me when to stand up for myself, and not actually resorting to unnecessary violence.

When I was eleven, My dad and I had a competition to see who could ride their bike the longest around the track at our neighborhood park. We did 27 laps and it had gotten dark out. My mother had to come and stop us because neither one was willing to give up. We went back at the next day and did nine laps until I conceded because I had gotten hungry for burger king.

I see my dad as my best friend and mentor. I was about five when I was suffiring from serious sinus issues and my father mostly stayed out of the city for work. At this very time I was also diagonosed with jaundice. My father resigned from his post and came down to me and my mother as soon as he got the news. Even today tears come to my eyes when I remember it.

When I was a kid, dad used to take me in his arms and walk on the terrace telling me stories until I fell asleep.

This is a tough one. I think for me, it was the cruise my dad and I took when I was around 16 or so.

The majority of my memories of my biological father are all negative so rather than post any of those, I will instead post about my stepfather:

I have a lot of good memories of him, but some of my favorite moments are staying up late when my husband and I visit my parents (my mom and stepdad) and he and I watch all the horror movies that we love including the classics and the cheesy ones.

Third book? I didn't know that's what happens...perhaps a spoiler warning would be good in case those reading the series do not want to know what happens?

For me, I have many memorable moments. My favorite ones would be him coming home early from work, me crawling into bed next to him, and having these long and deep conversations with him. We would talk about anything and everything. I loved these moments.

When we would go up north, my dad and I would wake up at the crack of dawn and go trout fishing. It would be just the two of us and we would see things that most people will never see, such as hundreds of Sandhill Cranes doing a mating dance at the same time.

That's hard to say. I always love spending time with my dad but he never wants to just relax and do simple things. Our personalities are so different.

There are many for me. A father is like a friend who teaches us to do things like a caring friend would.

Yes! My father was my best friend going up. We were always so competitive and playful with each other. That's why I always feel bad for children who don't grow up with a father figure (don't have to be biological to be a dad). Fathers help make childhood and life so much more rich.

It is rough without having a father figure. The new show called This is Us sort of handles that entire topic really well for a guy who grew up with an amazing father but needed a little bit extra to really help him become stronger.
