I don't think so because such kind if curiosity can only be found in someone who is matured in age

kids are curious and rarely scared of things like this so Bret's actions are totally believable. I on the other hand wouldn't even have gone that deep into the woods on my own. I jump at every small sound lol

I would think it realistic for a boy like Bret to go in. But his decision to crawl into a cave like placew and hide am not so sure. I would see him instead run to and cry to his mother.

I think as a little kid and even now I would explore in such a situation, it is what made the whole sequence work.

I think Bret was just being curious. Young boys are like cats really, they're explorers. It is scary though, that he didn't overthink his new finding, and even scarier that the original Raven's Peak hadn't been sealed off by the miners. It was unwise of Bret to imagine that he was making a discovery and unfortunate that he met his prey therein. Personally I might have explored the town as well, and probably I'd be dead by now really. That demon was bad news.

I think it was realistic that Bret would explore the old town, particularly as he is an inquisitive young boy and there would also be some girls who would relish the thought of such an exploration. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them and I would have legged it like a bat out of hell!

If I come across an old abandoned town I am going to turn the other way and run as fast as possible. Who knows what could be lurking.

I would definitely explore it but first I would observe and take my time to plan carefully. I wouldn't want to run into bad people or some wild animal. What Bret did wasn't unrealistic but it was highly dumb to do, as a little kid he should have been scared more but if his curiosity overpowered his initial fear then he would go as he did.

Me too. I used to be afraid of almost everything. I would watch a horror movie and stay awake all night scared to close my eyes. :|

I would stay far away from it.

Without a doubt I would have gone exploring. I live in an area that was all gold rush towns and when we find old buildings/foundations/etc, we peak in windows and dig around for old square nails or any other weird stuff. It would never even occur to me to be scared of an old town.

I would have kept exploring, but I am also a very curious person. I have explored plenty of unfinished houses both as a child and an adult, so I don't think I would react very differently to coming upon an old, abandoned town. I would definitely be careful not to walk into any areas that looked like they were unsafe.

If I were at Bret's age, I probably run and go back with my mother. My mother told me that one time she forgot to buy something and she asked me to do not move until she gets back. Haha she left and got back where she leaves me without moving a single step! Maybe I will just peek then go back to the cabin
