I also wasn't a fan of the action scenes, some were okay but I felt some went on far too long and did not add anything nor make me feel anything like a sense of danger or threat. However despite this, there was much more to like about the book.

I agree the action scenes were kind of long. I like action scene but I don't really like them being dragged out for so long.

Yes they did seem a tad long so I would start to lose interest. Glad I wasn't the only one that thought this.

I was reading another book of his and the action scenes took up way too many pages in the book. I actually found myself skipping ahead to the end and I usually try to avoid skipping pages in books.

Ah that's no good. To be honest I did skim over a few pages as they were all fight scenes. I much preferred the creepy description and suspense parts over the fight scenes.

I'm going to be honest here and say that I'm selecting this book as my 3rd book review ever. I'm hooked on everyone's comments and point of views. Well done all

Honestly I haven't read the book yet as I'm choosing it for my 3rd ever book review. But reading everyone's comments is making me want to stop my current book and start Raven's Peak.

I haven't read this yet, but I think I will. Everyone's comments make it sound good, and I love the supernatural genre.

My favorite aspect of Ravens Peak was the pace. It had a lot of action sequences that were plenty descriptive and kept me turning the pages. I really liked the mystery of Arthur and wanted to read more history on him.

My least favorite aspect was the dialogue between Abigail and Freida and Abigail and Haatim. She came off completely ambivalent which never seemed to match the circumstances. It would be great to see what makes her tick in another book.

I really liked Arthur and the intensity of the Prologue. In other areas, I felt there was way too much emphasis on unimportant things. I get it, the crackers were stale.

Agreed. And I even want to read it for the parts people disliked, like the fighting scenes. I want to see how not to write action scenes, haha.

I loved the story's elements...supernatural powers in humans, demons, etc. The book moved along easily and kept my attention. I do plan on reading the rest of the series.

The thing I didn't like about the book was that there wasn't enough background. What was The Reverend's story? How and why did he end up in that prison?

I would have liked more background on Haatim and Abigail's lives, too.

I also think the story would have benefited from some explanation of the Council - how, when and why was it formed? And the demons...it seemed there were demons that were more dangerous or more evil than others?
