I loved the story line. Prologue was very gripping and it made me read the whole book. My rating is 3 out 4 cause boom was predictable in many ways.

Definitely a 4 out of 4 stars for me. The book flowed well and was an easy read. I liked the development of the characters and the plot. I do wish more detail was given on Arthur. However, I feel confident we will learn more in the next book. My one dislike would have to be the ending. I wish it was a little more clear and precise. Overall, I loved this book. I would recommend this book to everyone. I look forward to the next installment.

This is a horror book about a man who likes whipping himself, who gets sent to hunt a demon. The demon likes to kill young girls and inhabit their bodies. I really was not enjoying the tale so I stopped reading. To be honest horror books are not my cup of tea but in my perspective as a reader, I found this book mediocre and boring.

The characters are down-to-earth and nuanced. If horror is your thing, this is the book for you, but it is more than just scary, it is absorbing and so well written. Definitely a good book.
Heart! We will forget him!
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.

When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!

I am another reader that feels the beginning showed a lot of promise. The book constantly kept a pace but I didn't feel connected to Abigail.

I enjoyed the story, I thought it started out strong and the pacing kept me going, but I had a hard time connecting with/liking some of the main character. I also wish the ending had been a little more satisfying! (Even though I understand it is the first in the series.)

Overall, I rate Raven's Peak 3 out of 4 stars and look forward to the next installment.
I also gave it 3 out of 4 stars when I wrote my review on it. It was an interesting read... but I was disappointed by the second book and gave up on ever reading the third book. How about you?

I thought the book was great overall and gave it a 3 out of 4 stars. It's true Abigail wasn't fleshed out in the beginning until we got to know her story. I described her as a black Lara Croft type of heroine. Since I'm an action fan, I really got into it and enjoyed her personality. She did her job well!
