The book was uniquely structured as it began in a very down to earth manner, the setting was a traditional Shakespearean play (King Lear), and through a series of macro-level twists and turns as well as the the story of Dr. Eleven which kept re-emerging, Emily continued on. It almost seemed as if she was holding onto Dr. Eleven as her personal references during the reforming of her world (after an epidemic) and through coincidences.

This book seemed to me to be a fresh approach to the concept of changing (or rebooting) one`s life -- for example, maybe a person decides on a new career, new spouse and new city all within a year therefore necessitating dealing with many unpleasant tasks (i.e. winding down areas not valued ... here Emily might view them in an exaggerated dystopian frame) as well as the more positive getting on with it tasks (which I would have preferred to be emphasized by word-weight).
