I would not want to be a vampire. The idea that immortality is possible would be too much. I would want to be, in every sense of the word, a loner.

Only if I don't have to drink blood to stay alive. I know it's part of being a vampire, but the blood is really the part that ruins it for me. Immortality is a plus, for sure. I think I wouldn't want to be one just because blood kind of freaks me out.

Sure there would be some cool perks, but at the end of the day I think being a vampire would be the epitome of loneliness. Knowing that all the people you've ever loved and cared about are going to die, let alone having to feed off of other humans would be pretty brutal. At the end of the day, I'd give it a pass and just try and make the most out of being human.

While it does sound cool to have superpowers, immortality comes with its own share of grief. Plus, there this whole ethical dilemma about who to kill for food, or whether to kill humans at all, etc. It's too stressful, I think!

While the powers and strength would be an interesting aspect, no I would not want to be a vampire. That's mainly because they spend most of their time killing people, unless you come across those "good" ones, and plus they are immortal which I would not want either.

Heck no, the whole concept of vampirism hinges on human blood. The thought of hungering for human blood...gross

Yes! The appeal for me is the release of moral qualms. I may be biased, hence the writing of my own vampire novel, but the ability to shut off emotions, to be free of moral obligation, it is enticing. Maybe it was my strict upbringing that gives me this view, but I love reading stories about vampires and the freedoms they posses. Eternal damnation may be a factor I don't want to look at too closely, but what does that mean for an immortal?

Vampires are parasites, which means they leech off another life source to survive. As a person who abhors depending on anyone for anything I can't imagine enjoying a life that exists solely off of and because of another. Besides I can't imagine blood being very appetizing.

The killing part is the deal-breaker. Nope. It's going to be very hard to live with yourself or have any sort of normal relationship.

I've always wanted to join the vampire ranks. I would rather only take blood from those willing to feed me. Although not having to worry about getting sick or dying or getting old means I could enjoy life with less worry. (At least until my legal age was in question). Then start over somewhere else. But I would be able to watch over my family (from a distance) for as many generations as I'm allowed.

The idea of being a vampire has been very romanticized, from the ability to seduce anyone, to the utter perfection of ones being. Living a really long if not infinite life would allow you to gain many skills and travel many places but in the end I think you would end up alone and bored/ unsatisfied. You would have to move a lot because of your lack of aging and you would have to consider where you got your blood from. The only way this life would be worth it would be working in medicine and finding cures or ways to synthesize blood.
