This is a review of the book Small Change by Keddie Hughes
Izzy's life changes in an instant after she meets Sean Docherty. The latter happens to take his brothers place who happens to be the client of Izzy..His brother Connor Docherty suffers financial problems and also he lost his seventeen year old son as a result of being killed by the Supporters of the rangers football club.

Izzy is a student at a college a wife and mother ,moreover she is a volunteer at the Citizen's Advice Bureau where she meets Sean .She is a woman whom the writer portrays as a hardworking, loving, patient and above all visionary.

She involves herself with Sean in finding the truth about the Rangers football club financial status ,which make it possible for love to between them. At the same time her husband Jim suffers from alcoholism and he seeing a counselor to tackle the same problem.Jim does this behind Izzy's back.He seems not to keep his promises with drinking that eventually makes Izzy to choose Sean instead of him terminating their twenty years of marriage.

Izzy has a seventeen year old son that loves music so much in contrasts to what the father wants from him.Davy is persistent that his mother should divorce his father because of the drinking problem he has. This book focusses on a woman who juggles between motherhood, a wife and a proffessional .She achieves her vision in her career path. She emerges out strong despite the divorce. After the divorce she embarks on her career of which she achieves her dream .Her relationship with Sean thrives for sometime and later on hits the rocks when Sean asks her to move to the USA and work as a volunteer with the UN .She refuses Sean's proposal thus the breakup. They later reunite in their last which meant to be the last one.
On the other hand her ex husband's rehab becomes a success and later he relocates to his home town where he becomes a farmer. On the other hand her son Davy later on gets married to his love and they live in London.Davy has changed for he no longer harbours anger towards his father Jim as he visits him once in a while and he forgave him too.

I liked this book basing on the fact on how the author potrays Izzy her strengths and her weaknesses. She is exemplary on how she tackles her husbands problem ,she is patient thast she will change over time as she gives him time to quit drinking , even though they later got divorced.

On the other hand some things that almost put me off was that, the author while writing on the conversation of Jim and his counselor. She mixes events if one is not keen then you can get confused while reading.
Otherwise the book is worth reading and I do recommend it to anyone interested in reading this book especially to the women who are struggling with how to balance their careers, school, children, husband and their homes they can learn alot from Izzy. From her character she not only thrived in these but she also helps in fact finding when she engages with Sean in finding the reasion behind the rangers football club financial problems I rate this book3 out of 4 stars
I thank the author for writing this book.
