Speedy Hurled Through Havoc is an encouraging life story, full of adventure, the pursuit of self-identification, and the ability to grow your talent in all aspects. It is a combination of being lost while finding. We hear Dave “Letterfly” Knoderer reflecting on how he was hoping to himself but eventually realized that he was also looking for his father.

The book begins with a road trip that the author decides to take, and eventually finds himself in a circus where he had the opportunity to blossom his painting skills, which were secretly impressing his father because it reminded him of how he was as a little boy. The author refers to this as the road of life that provided an abundance of opportunities that fed his passion for creativity. This then is the actual effect of life that really everyone needs someone to look up to, learn from, and follow to find themselves. The story of this books reminds us how some of our gifts and who we are, are inherited from fathers and grandfathers. So, we are bound not to neglect the DNA of destiny!

This is quite a balanced book that does not only encourage those who are a youth to go on a road trip of self-discovery unafraid, but also grooming the young not to neglect the wisdom of grey hair. The positive effect it gives about the talent one discovers and also acknowledging where you come is partly rare in this generation. We learn from this book, that we need to think out of the box, discover, and grow without being filled with pride, anger, and vain glory.

The author denotes that it was no longer all about himself, his plans, and concocting his strategies, but he was liberated, free to simply do the next right thing. This is what we need in this life, to do the right thing, and learn not to take credit for our success. The principles of life that the book has make it worthy of 4 out 4 star rating. The opening words of this book say, “The Road is a metaphor for life.” In that we are expected to encounter bumps, dips, and detours which help and guide a person to the right direction of success.

I would rather recommend the book to he who wants to find the true reason why they are born, and those who are already on a road trip to self-discovery but have lost the way somehow.
