Yes, I totally agree. Compelling and well-developed characters can take almost any storyline and bring it to life.

I am so glad that I didn't pick this book to read! I thought the plot seemed alright but after reading your review, I'm so happy I didn't choose this one. So thank you!

Also, I get what you mean about the "before" aspect, I too think it would be more interesting to see the during/after.
