Historical fiction

I'm looking for some good christian, biblical or any historical fiction to read. Emphasis place on the historical part. I don't like romance novels disguised as historical (no period dramas), and I don't like ones that have a heavy emphasis on murder mystery. I like ones that are well researched out, where the author provides where they got there information. Ones based on real people (not just events), where maybe some characters are fictionalized but not all of them. I'm not really interested in war history. I hope my parameters make sense.
