What's your genre preference?

Do you watch things similar to what you read? Or are your tastes completely different in movies and T.V. compared to books?

Personally, I tend toward different things, though much of my taste crosses over.

That's an interesting question. I would say there is some overlap, for instance, I love historical and natural history on both. But, for instance, I quite like watching documentaries about police and emergency services on TV and would probably not read books about them (though I like psychological thrillers) .

I hardly watch movies, but there is some overlap. I especially like comedies, Sci-fi, and psychological thrillers.

I actually never really thought about it, but my tastes are similar. Drama, Suspense, or Thriller. Occasionally, Romance, but hardly ever.

My interests are pretty much the same. I love reading about history and reading it as well.

I don't really think my interests overlap a whole lot. Unless it's a movie that's been based on a book I've read, at least. At the end of the day, I'll watch anything with good characters. I suppose that might be the biggest overlap. That, and the fact that I rarely bother with anything non-fiction. And that's not to say I never find myself watching or reading things that aren't fictional...just that it doesn't happen very often. I happen to hate reality tv and I don't watch any of the cooking or house decorating/building shows and news is also a bit of a rarity.

I like horror and love stories (quite the combination), in both books and movies.

I like thrillers, fantasy stuff and even dabble in those things. Always nice to see a mix of sci-fi and fantasy too.

I actually watch everything, but read books about romance. I don't know - I find many books interesting, however while reading romance, I have the most fun.

My tastes are all over the place. I end up watching movies from genres I don't like and end up liking those movies. I think for me once the movie seems interesting, and the plot is good I will watch it. I will however NOT watch horror movies. I have a very vivid imagination, and those haunt me forever! Plus a lot of them don't have concrete plots and I am left with so many unanswered questions. I will, however, jump to rom-coms or action movies without a thought. The books I tend to read are more like romance, sci-fi or historical fiction.

I don't enjoy romance books or movies.... Often I like sci-fi movies but do not enjoy reading books of this genre. Favourite would be drama for movies though.
