What movies or TV series do you wish had been a book first?

Post by Gravy »

The title kind of says it all. A lot of us have books we'd like to see turned into movies, and sometimes movies/TV series get turned into books (Doctor Who or Star Trek, anyone?), but what movie or TV series do you wish had been a book first?

For me I'd probably list Avatar, and Inception...though I'm sure I'll think of more :D

Wow, this is a really great question, but I am coming up blank here. I've read many book adaptations of TV shows (you mentioned one), but I've never considered that the reverse could be a possibility. I will have to think long and hard about this one!

I really wish Once Upon A Time was a book.

Desperate Housewives. That is the exact type of book genre I love. It wouldn't have taken me long to read those!

Ooo good topic question! I really wish that Supernatural would have been a book series first. I love the snippy and witting writing for the show, plus the storyline.

I wish Supernatural was a book series. I know they have a fictional book series 'the Winchester Gospels' but i wish they were real published books.

I always thought The Cell would've made an interesting book, visually speaking. The idea is something that an author could really have fun with, and I love the dark imagery of the film.

I've often wondered if there were a book that had that same flavor :eusa-think:

I think quite a few romantic comedies would've made light and fluffy romances such as The Proposal and When Harry Met Sally.

With that said, I also love crime shows such as Criminal Minds, and I think that would've made for a great series of books.

Passion of Mind. It's so twisty, and intense. It would have been interesting to read.

The Shining
There is a lot of extra stuff at the end that was explained in the book but was thrown in with no explanation in the movie.
