Are you guilty of filling people in what happens in the book when watching an adaptation?

I'm extremely tempted to do that. But I also fear boring my friends. So I will try mentioning something about the books and pay attention to their reaction. If they're like "oh really?", I'll keep going haha.

Ditto!! My fiance usually politely listens but i can tell he doesn't super care ha. I just assume that finding out more about what's going on is as interesting to him as it is for me

I constantly do that with "Game of Thrones" and "Harry Potter". People need to know about Peeves the poltergeist!

Sometimes I do, especially when the differences are important. That means discussing what's behind the choice to change something in the adaptation.

I am the annoying person who does that! My husband will ask me what differed though. I mean, I would have told him anyway haha.

Oh, I always do that! It probably annoys people. But, I always do it as if it's my job to educate people on the book-to-film differences or something.

I am especially notorious for doing that with Game of Thrones and Harry Potter.

Guilty as charged, which explains people not liking to go to the movies with me. I actually have to promise not to spoil them until after we've watched the movie.
