The Hunger Games and Harry Potter. Those are the only ones I can think about. Most movies don't give justice to the greatness of their corresponding books.

BBC older adaptation of 'Pride and Prejudice' is pretty much word for word from the book. It's the one with Elizabeth Garvie and David Rintoul. I've watched it several times.

Stephen King’s The Langoliers was the most accurate of what I had envisioned from his writing to the actual movie

:D If i had to name books on which movies are made i think it should be good to say superhero movies because these types of movies required a lot more work than creating a movie based on romance or non-fiction
If i had to name one book it should be marvel books (mostly comics ) sort of graphical books
Superhero movies requires a very hard working team that can fulfill the best requirments of almost imaginable character with superpowers in movie and at the same time not to look like a a very comical character (rip off)
Thats all from me hope u like
Thank a lot

I really loved how Perks of Being a Wallflower was adapted, I thought the script and the casting was so great

I really like how The Hunger Games movies turned out!
I was also super impressed with the adaptation of A Monster Calls and Room!

I'd say the Lord of the Rings trilogy, for me.

I believe that came out in 1939?? Umm, I also think "Jane Eyre" and "Wuthering Heights" were good adaptations, I think the Brontë sisters would have been pleased :D Some of Jane Austen's books that are also movies are pretty good too :) I have all the movies that were derived from Austen's books...love em
I am going to have to agree, "Gone With The Wind" by Margaret Mitchell. I have at no point in my book/ movie loving life, seen anything so close to the book. There are some minor details such as the amount of children Scarlett has, in the book she has a child to every husband vs. the movie she only has one child. Other small details are left out but when reading the book you can picture Scarlett and the actress,
Vivien Leigh, she's it!

I would say The Lord of the Rings, right until the end of The Return of the King. I think it was poorly wrapped, but overall, a great adaptation. I felt the same things I did when I read the book.

For me, the best book to movie adaptation that I have seen is the Lord of the Rings. Sure, the movies didn’t capture certain details or points in the plot, but as films, they are amazing.

Yes, I think that the first Harry Potter movie was excellent. As for some of the movies later in the series, there were some very important details and scenes that were left out, but I think overall they were decent.

Unpopular opinion but i think the hunger games and twilight series did a good job. They grabbed my attention, were funny at times and sad at others, and i would watch them again.
