Dub or sub

Sub! A lot of the time, the words that the characters are actually saying get lost in the translation. Brock’s “jelly doughnuts” anyone? Although I guess dub is better if you really don’t feel like having to read off the bottom of the screen.

You can't be sure of translations for subs but at least in that case they don't have to try to lip-synch like in dubbing.

I prefer subtitles. Though I understand easily with dubbed movies, it feels unnatural. I feel the feeling gets lost.

I hate dubbed movies. I think it makes the characters sound retarded and I cannot get over how stupid it sounds. It ruins the whole movie

The subtitles are better. I can't stand watching the movie with dub one because it's disturbing.

I definitely prefer subtitles. The dubbed ones drive me crazy since the mouth movements don’t match the words (and the voices don’t really feel right either).

Depends on what I am doing while watching it... If I am just enjoying and able to focus on what I am watching, then Subtitles

But if I am multitasking, then i'll throw it on dubbed so I don't have to read it all haha

Always sub. I don't mind the disparity between lip movement and words, but the voices they choose are always so off.

I like reading along sometimes when watching animes but other times I want to be doing something when I'm watching a show. Most dubs are so annoying though, and sometimes with texts and messages they don't translate them so I'm just left confused.

I don't truly have any scruples about watching either but if a dub exists I'd rather watch that than the sub.

The only time I don't watch a movie with subtitles is when it is in my native language. Dubbing really takes away a lot of the emotion of the film and it just makes me cringe at some points. I really don't understand the problem people have with subtitles because I can't watch a foreign movie that doesn't have them.

I like having both. Then I can read the differences between the English version and the subtitles.

I hate anything that is dubbed, especially films. It doesn't matter the language. The sounds not matching the people's lips really gets on my nerves. If it is not in the original version, I simply don't watch it.
