So many times I can barely count them. The Maze Runner books by James Dashner left me destroyed, as well as The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. As for the movies, this might seem a bit odd, but I almost cried at the beginning of the Lust, Caution (a Chinese movie about WWII).

It's funny, Ender's Game is the one book that made me cry so hard that I couldn't see to read anymore, but the movie was so bad that I was dry as a desert in the tears department.

The Virgo Speaks wrote: 06 Dec 2016, 23:11 There have been many movies based off of the story line of novels that evoke emotion. My question is are there any books that have made you cry just as u would have done or did if you actually saw the movie? An example would be "The Fault In Our Stars" (I shed a tear or two toward the end)
I cried for both the movie and the film versions of The Fault in Our Stars. I recently saw Five Feet Apart and bawled, and I have no doubt when I read the book I will cry again. I highly recommend it for fans of The Fault in Our Stars.

I remember the time when I watched Harry Potter. All the time when it was aired on TV, I all waited to see each characters, hear the peculiar soundtrack that actually makes me fall for the series. After Dumbledore died, I just prayed that no one else suffered anything more. Just by that time I saw Severus Snape was killed and all his secrets revealed, I burst out crying... I had had gloomy days after that. Such great movies that drive me hard in all emotion, and until now I have not cried for any film except this one.

I have cried while reading many books, for all kinds of reasons. Here is a list of some:

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Atonement
Krik? Krak!
Beloved
Don't Call Us Dead
The Glass Castle
Turtles All the Way Down
Scribbling the Cat

And these are just some I've read in the past year! I know I would also cry in the movie adaptations for many of these, but sometimes there is just something special that can only be captured in the book.

There are several movies & books which made me cry. The first one I remember is when Cedric dies in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Many epics made me sit with drops rolling down. One of which is " the fault in our stars".Always my favourite since I watched that movie. The mental agony, pure relationship, humanity everything shown between that couple drown me crazy for some days even after watching. This movie is about a couple suffering from cancer and how they overcomes the fear of death. And the metaphor used in this movie is super cool.

Okay so book first.

The first book I ever really cried in was The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
Now, I had never really read any book like this and when I picked it up in my bookstore to bring to the beach, I really surprised myself.

It is just such a beautifully written book and it is narrated by Death, which I thought was an interesting choice, but I soon came to respect that decision. This book made me laugh and cry and it influenced me in ways I never expected.

Seriously if you haven't read this book, pick it up now. It is a must read.

The movie I always cry in is Armageddon.

Yep, the one with Bruce Willis.

The ending always gets me and I can't make it through without streams of tears down my face. But the movie is really good so then it is okay.

I laugh and I cry while watching movies and reading books. I feel the highs and lows of the stories and suffer with them.
