As a typical Kenyan, I go for ugali and chicken. Besides, I like bananas.

When I lived in the US, my go to comfort food was always Shepards pie (or really anything that involved mashed potatoes. I've lived in Southern Africa for a while and have come to want braiied chicken with mealie meal or some stew with rice whenever I'm wanting comfort food.

Lasagna is my favorite comfort food. I also love spinach & artichoke dip with tortilla chips. Yum!

My go-to comfort food is tomato soup with saltines. It's simple, but I practically lived on that in college so it brings back good memories. I'm not much of a cook, and tomato soup is a warm, comforting food that is easy to make. It's especially good on a cold or rainy day - with a good book, of course!

My comfort food has always been fries with my very own macaroni sauce. As a foodie I always prefer creativity in food. I always try recipes with little bit of fusion. As I like to say, "Make your comfort food a happy meal."

I don't think I have a type of comfort food, normally when I feel a little blue I lose appetite. It just feels like a big ball of nothing in my stomach and anything that tries to feel it just feels wrong.

Carbs is my comfort food. I will usually go for salty over sweet but there will be times you'll catch my with ice cream in my hand. I like nachos, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes (garlic... yummy!), but if I am trying to be healthier than I will make myself some cheesy broccoli or cheesy Brussels sprouts.

I have two favorite comfort foods.

1. Biscuits and gravy. This is a southern favorite and for me has to be made with white sausage gravy.

2. Tacos. After spending a long time in Mexico City, I love to recreate street tacos when I am feeling down.
