When I was working 12-hour night shifts, meal prepping was the only way I could get the cooking done. Either that or throwing things together in a crockpot. It saves so much time.

I don’t meal prep the traditional way in individual containers per whole meal. I put each (big) portion of a dish in separate containers.

I've heard of it, even tried it but when the tastebuds want what they want the whole process becomes redundant or its a lack of self discipline who knows.

I usually don't do meal prep as I have a lot of time to make my meals no matter how many hours it may take.

I think it depends on what you mean by meal prepping, as people use to describe several different food habits. I feel like I do a form of meal prepping, but limited. I like to make a casserole style meal on the weekend and then divide it up into Tupperware for my lunches during the week. I refuse to spend money on fast food for lunch, mostly because it would have to be delivered (I am a teacher and leaving campus during lunch isn't feasible). So if I do not have a lunch prepared then I simply don't eat that day. This is never a good thing, even worse now that I am pregnant!

After I divide up the food for daily lunches there is always a little leftover for my husband and I to eat for dinner on the day I made it (usually Saturday). The other habit I like to do is cook up some shredded chicken for the week, or maybe ground beef. This way it is already cooked and my husband can just throw together tacos for us on week nights when neither of us wants to cook. So I really only do a couple things, but it helps.

I first heard of meal prepping from a friend who did it. I would do it since it sounds really helpful, and you won't have to worry about food when you're exhausted. Unfortunately, I don't think I could do it consistently.

I don't meal prep in the traditional way, I 'ingredient' prep.

I chop all my fruits and veggies at the start of the week, with a plan for what I'm going to make. That way, if I deviate from the plan, the food doesn't go bad when I don't immediately use it.

I love it! I live in Germany, where the quick lunch option is bread, bread and more bread! So I do breakfasts, snacks and lunches to take to work with me and it makes a huge difference to my energy levels because I'm eating healthy food. It's also much cheaper than buying it all.

My work schedule is a little strange in comparison to most people. I head in to work to get stuff done after lunch and then I work until around ten each night so by the time I get home cooking is not high on my list of interests. Meal prepping allows me to still make healthy choices late at night when all I want to do is go grab subway or something quick. Good thing I live in a very small town so there is not really much for fast food options. Meal prepping is definitely a life saver though. I prep all my food for suppers the week on Sundays so it’s one less thing to think about during the week.

Meal prepping can be fantastic for getting lunches ready at the beginning of the week, but it can be really time-consuming, too. Some people have it down to a system, where they can prep a whole weeks' worth of lunches and dinners in just 2 hours with multiple options on the menu. It takes me almost 2 hours just to prep and cook a single meal sometimes so I don't know how they do it! I've found that sheet-pan recipes, where you throw all the ingredients on a single baking sheet and toss it all in the oven, are the best bet. The fewer the dishes, the better!
