I started late in my early 30's as I rotated cooking nights with my wife.

I started cooking at the age of 6. I remember making dinner with my grandma every night. She would let me sit on top of the counter to help her mix and pour different ingredients.

I can't remember ever not being in the kitchen, helping my Mom with holidays, baking, preserves, and just the daily cooking. I do recall serving my first unsupervised meal that I cooked at 11.
It was spaghetti and meatballs lol

I for sure started baking with my mom when very young. Probably no older than 6. She's told me some great stories of us in the kitchen! I started cooking meals and such sometime in high school. I've loved cooking ever since. I also love learning new recipes.

I thought of myself as cooking food around 7, not that you would want to eat anything I made. I would literally throw whatever I could in a sauce pot. Something must have paid off though since I can cook almost anything now.

Wow i'm very far behind everyone else....I didn't really start to learn how to cook until I was in my early 20's but even then it was simple vegetarian meals. I'm now 36 years old and only in the last 6 years have I started to get interested and even enjoy cooking and become more adventurous in what I make. My husband really taught me a lot :D haha!

Now I'm a cookbook hoarder :/

I started cooking food at 13 years because my parents were usually at work and I had to cook for myself and for them.

I don't remember a specific age...it was always part of the day. As the youngest of seven children and the only girl to boot, I was most definitely expected to help with cooking.
