I always liked to hang around and "help" at big family meals when I was young. Now I realize I was mostly in the way but my family was nice to let me stay. I was probably 10 when I first realized cooking was fun.

I started at the age of 10. With my mother started off just watching her then a few months went by and it turned into me helping with stirring or mixing. I'm not sure why parents nowadays don't have there children in the kitchen with them. I mean I know some parents do but I think its a great idea to start kids off at a young age to learn to cook.

I started to cook for myself around age 8 or 9, easy things, working up to hard things in my teens. I started teaching my kids to cook when they were toddlers and they were handling knives well by the time they were 5. I now teach cooking to kids and I'm surprised at how many parents haven't taught their small children basics in the kitchen. I think it's a very important skill to start young.

I started cooking at age 11. I never knew that when making a stew with Palm oil the oil will disappear on top while the stew is boiling ๐Ÿ˜Ž so i was adding oil anytime i check it. After I removed my pot from the cooker i realised that all the oil I had been adding didn't go any where ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€ so I started scooping the oil<br>

Well, I started trying to cook very young (7 or 8 ) and I would help my mom a lot in the kitchen at that age. I wasn't actually able to cook good tasting food until I was around 14 though ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have been in the kitchen since I can remember and recall the pride I felt when my mother first let me cook a dish without any supervision or guidance!

I started cooking at the age of 9 because it is embarrassing in our family if you can't cook. My brothers would tease me if I don't know how to cook. ๐Ÿ˜…

I was nine-years-old when I stood in front of my mom and said: "Mom, I think it's time you teach me to cook," and she was happy to comply as she was a working mom.

I've served my fare share of crispy dinners (read burned :mrgreen2:).

It seems I am a late bloomer, I only developed an interest in cooking after I turned 18 and I had to feed myself.

I started at age 6 mostly easy things & microwaved dishes. I grew up in a large family, the main meal my parents cooked but snacks & what not you were on your own. The reason I started so young was I grew up in a large family of 7 kids so it was fend for yourself situation. I also help my mom in the kitchen it was a lot of work to cook for a family of our size.
